Startup Lounge

filed under: the offline world — Martin @ 8:49 pm

I’m in Berlin – once again. This time I attended a workshop from the VDI (yesterday; it was great!) and today I visited the Startup Lounge. I’m a little bit disappointed: there were just six or so investors, mainly venture capital companies, but no business angels. The sessions weren’t exciting either. However, there was one session that was inspiring and very entertaining. Titus, the sixty year old founder and head of Titus, a famous Skater company, told his life story. It was very encouraging.

Here is a picture of me at the Startup Lounge together with Stephan from sofatutor, taken by Alexander from Deutsche Startups:

Have a good time!

Forum on Virtual Economies

filed under: the market is always right — Matthias @ 7:54 am

On my search for more figures from virtual items sales in social networks or virtual worlds I got in contact with Vili Lehdonvirta from virtual-economy.org. I am so happy, that he and his colleague Juho Hamari started an own forum-thread on virtual-economy.org, where everybody can share revenue data and other metrics of virtual asset sales market.

This is a really good start and I hope, this can be a central point of metrics of the virtual asset sales market.

Good bye and stay tuned.

BizSpark: We Are Part of It!

filed under: business is an evolving success — Martin @ 9:38 pm

Yesterday, Microsoft announced at the Xtopia conference in Berlin the availability of BizSpark in Germany. BizSpark is a global program by Microsoft to help startups to accellerate their product development by providing nearly free access to their development tools (Visual Studio, Expression) and server software (Dynamics, Sharepoint, Windows, …) and offering them support and partnerships. Microsoft, especially Christian Klasen and Carsten Rudolph, already helped us enormously by introducing us to their partners and thus our potential partners. Today, we were invited to participate in BizSpark, which will be very helpful for our business, too! So thanks a lot for your support, Microsoft!
